greenuns
Hi all, I have a tricky situation here... I have been using a hackintosh running 10.5.6 for quite awhile but had to move so I got rid of the computer but only took out the HDDs. Now i'm using a macbook pro running Snow. I have all my contacts stored in the address book app of my hackintosh HDD. Is it possible to connect my old hackintosh HDD to my MBP and recover my contacts? I haven't tried running address book from my MBP while the old HDD is connected in case files might get overwritten. Could someone confirm it'll be safe? Is there a proper method for recovering? any help would be great thank you Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/220528-recover-contacts-from-and-old-hdd/ Share on other sites
justvisiting
buy an external USB enclosure (~$20-30) and put your drive in it. should work fine. make sure the enclosure has the proper drive connector for your drive (IDE or SATA). good luck. greenuns
thanks, do I run the address book app from the application folder on my MBP or from the application folder on the old HDD? I know it's just a simple "give it a go" thing but I'm worried things might get overwritten Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/220528-recover-contacts-from-and-old-hdd/#findComment-1488436 Share on other sites
