Mayim
This one has me baffled. I had a working Snow Leopard install. Then I swapped out my Pentium dual-core E5200 for a Core 2 Quad Q9400. Suddenly, I can't boot Snow Leopard; I get 'Still waiting for root device'. The CPU was the ONLY thing that changed. I didn't change the motherboard. All of the drives in my system are SATA (no PATA/EIDE). And yes, I've tried tweaking the various relevant settings in the BIOS, to no avail. I even tried sticking a 'rescue drive' in... a little laptop SATA drive on which I have a working SL install. Same thing. I'm kind of stuck here. Any help would be much appreciated. I have no idea why swapping CPUs would cause a problem with the hard drives.
