chinoy
The Dell has two USB ports on the left side and one on the right. I normally leave my USB Pen drive in the right slot and have my mouse and external disk on the two ports to the left. I have no idea why but sometimes the mouse will not work. If the mouse isnt working I also find that the external hard disk is not recognised. I have spent days now playing with the various Kext files, power saving modes etc and just cant figure it out. I cant belive Im the only one with this problem. Can somebody help. No Im not using any DSDT file. Things are confusing enough without having a DSDT file to deal with. Any help appreciated if we must used the DSDT can somebody provide one which works with my setup. Dell XPS M1530 2Mhz, Nvida 8600GT 256MB Whats the fix for the flakey USB ? Or at least what is causing it ? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/220155-flakey-usb-after-1063-update/ Share on other sites
MasterHunterHD
Hi, i looked on google images and i found out that your computer is a laptop. Wouldn't be much easier to use the internal trackpad ? It could be good that you use the Voodoo Laptop kit, so that you have some extra stuff that you could use like the PS2 trackpad, the power management and even the brightness control, as well as also some extra support for the CPU. So you can google up Voodoo Laptop Kit or Support. Hope it helps PS : as it is said in the signature feel free to PM for further help or informations ! chinoy
Thanks will give it a shot. So far I have been trying the kext files found here. http://insanelywind.com/wiki/index.php/Kext_Downloads In various combination's. And so far nothing works. I have speed step working. If you go to Tony's blog he explains that there are some USB files in 10.6.3 that can cause issues and he recommends that you run the kext files from 10.6.2 none of these have worked Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/220155-flakey-usb-after-1063-update/#findComment-1483085 Share on other sites
