System Prefrences >> Sharing - Crash

I'm relatively new here. but just as the topic states.

 

When I go to System Preferences >> Sharing >> File Sharing >> add a folder

 

all seems well but no folder was added to the list and when I try to 'quit' system pref

it just stays grayed out and I cant open anything else

 

eventually the menu bar at the top disappears.

 

iatkos v7 (leopard 10.5.8)

 

Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.4GHz

3GB DDR2 RAM

nVidia GeForce 9800 GX2

 

mobo:

Intel P965 chipset

Asus P5BW-LA Basswood3G-UL8E

(from hp m8120n media center)

 

Is there something I can do? if this topic exists or someones has a link

(I tried google and everything I could think of)
