drule
My system: Intel D945CGZ Pentium D IHC7 AHCI enabled PNY 9500GT 512MB Installed Hazardz 10.6.2 for Intel AMD Chameleon 2 RC5pre7r141 DSDT patch with RTC and HPET hacks Contents of Extra: AppleIntel8255x.kext AppleIntelPIIXATA.kext IOATAFamily.kext NVEnabler.kext S/L/E has: NullCPUPowerManagement.kext FakeSMC.kext Boot.plist keys: startup - "-v -f arch=i386" EthernetBuiltIn = Y PNY 9500GY device ID put into the appropriate keys of NVDAResman, NVDEnabler, and NVDan50Hal. IOProbeScore set to 0. Other injectors removed. Originally I had problems with my BT mouse, but could boot into the 10.6.2 GUI. I then managed to find a BT dongle that SL recognized, but couldn't get the system to sleep, so I installed the SleepEnabler kext (and added PMversion=18 to boot.pllist) However, I had problems with SleepEnabler, so I removed it, and ever since I get the attached kernel panic. I've browsed, searched, and searched, then searched one more time just to make sure I didn't miss a post, but haven't been able to find a solution, please point me in the right direction (see KP attached). drule
Could someone please help with the above. Since this post, I have re-installed Snow Leop a couple of times on different partitions, using the retail DVD install, along with the my_hack and Parsys guides (yes both), and I keep getting this kernel panic. I can't get into single user mode, or proceed any further. If someone could just give me some insight into what is happening .......... drule
BootCD + Post Installhttp://www.mediafire.com/?de2bkjy2yt5 easy So you've seen this kernel panic before, and this was the way to get rid of it? Also, is it geared to work on a Pentium D system? I appreciate your response, but without some sort of explanation, or details about what is in that link which differs from what I've been trying, I'm not too confident that it would do the trick. But, as I've had no success with anything else, and nobody has offered another solution, I'll give it a try .... By the way, the problem isn't getting it installed, it getting back into the SL GUI after boot (I had managed to get into it a few times, before troubleshooting my mouse problems). drule
I started off using snow.legacy, then tried pre7. They both gave the same KP I included. Any idea what that KP is in reference to? And thanks for the effort of helping Just to re-iterate what I've already done, a few times: First install, where I managed to boot into SL 10.6.2 but it did not recognize my BT mouse: Some system deatails: Intel D945CGZ Pentium D IHC7 AHCI enabled PNY 9500GT 512MB Installed Hazardz 10.6.2 for Intel AMD Chameleon 2 RC5pre7r141 DSDT patch with RTC and HPET hacks Contents of Extra: AppleIntel8255x.kext AppleIntelPIIXATA.kext IOATAFamily.kext NVEnabler.kext S/L/E has: NullCPUPowerManagement.kext FakeSMC.kext Boot.plist keys: startup - "-v -f arch=i386" EthernetBuiltIn = Y PNY 9500GY device ID put into the appropriate keys of NVDAResman, NVDEnabler, and NVDan50Hal. IOProbeScore set to 0. Other injectors removed. After screwing up that install, trying to get the mouse working, I tried: Installed Retail DVD 10.6.0 onto a clean partition, from 10.5.8, added Chameleon RC5pre8, added these kexts in the Extra folder: AppleIntel8255x.kext AppleIntelPIIXATA.kext fakesmc.kext IOATAFamily.kext NullCPUPowerManagement.kext NVEnabler.kext From terminal I fixed permissions using sudo chmod chown, then used Mkext Tool to build the initial mkexts, tried booting into single user mode but got a similar KP to the one above. Luckily I've got two partitions that I'm using on an eSata drive for testing installations. On my internal Sata I've got 10.5.8 running (the only problem it has is a sluggish mouse). drule
So this is a different legacy AMD/Intel kernel than the ones I mentioned above? And is the reason I'm getting the above KP? I'll give it a try in a bit, thanks for the help. As I said, or think I said, above I have managed to boot into the SL 10.6.2 GUI before, but without mouse recognition. While trying to get the mouse recognized, I encountered the above KP, so I've been re-installing various Intel/AMD 10.6.x builds, all without luck - I keep getting the above KP. I'll try the one you've posted, after checking that it is different from the ones I've been using, and report back. Again, thanks for the help. OK create the bootcd with the kexts needed, including the kexts for the keyboard cd of the link that you have already spent it all, you just change the kernel Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/219821-need-help-for-kp-on-a-hazardz-1062-amdintel-install/#findComment-1482284 Share on other sites
drule
After looking over the link with bootCD info, this appears to be just another variation of all the other installs I've tried, and doesn't address the KP that I'm getting, in particular. Please, I ask again, are you familiar with the KP that I'm getting and know this to be the solution, or are you just suggesting this method as it was successful for your particular system? Thx the problem seems to be the kernel bootcd using this or any other of your choice you need only use the right kernel I'm uploading the bootcd with this kernel if the right kernel, extract the kernel and replace this is not a CD for personal use, tested in several computers also tested at 945 your problem is the kernel only if that does not work, we look for one that works before installation, go into bios and use the "load optimal default" after enable ahci and try http://www.megaupload.com/?d=CI5DOJBF Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/219821-need-help-for-kp-on-a-hazardz-1062-amdintel-install/#findComment-1482295 Share on other sites
drule
Great, that's what I was wondering. I did manage to boot into SL 10.6.2 with Hazardz' install DVD, using the legacy kernel he provides, so I will also extract that one from the DVD. I've downloaded all the files you've taken the time to upload for me, and will give them a try on Saturday. Right now, it is time for some Grappa Thank-you for your help. I may finally get a desktop Snow Leopard installation after all Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/219821-need-help-for-kp-on-a-hazardz-1062-amdintel-install/#findComment-1482339 Share on other sites
