Amacx86
Running an install of iDeneb 10.5.6 which I've upgraded to 10.5.8 through Apple's software update without a problem. The motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L. I've got 4 gigs of RAM, a 1 tb sata hard disk, a DVD drive, and an ATI Radeon 4850 card. Keyboard and mouse are USB. The system overall is rock solid stable with not so much as a kernal panic. The two things I've wanted to do are kick it up to 8 gigabytes of RAM and get WIFI for it. I'd used the Linksys WMP54G with Ralink drivers to bring Wifi to several motorola powered Macs, but it turns out that Ralink has no PCI drivers for intel based machines and so this strategy won't work. I read about the TP link card in the OSx86 project files as working with several OS X versions without any modification: "PCI B/G/N WirelessN TP-Link TL-WN851N TP-Link Native: $30.00 No kext needed. Atheros chipset. Recognized as AirPort Extreme 0x168C, 0x3079 by 10.5.7 up to 10.6.2" However, I cannot seem to get this thing to work for the life of me. The card doesn't show up in the system profiler either under PCI or under airport. It does show up with OSx86 tools as an unknown Athertos card. Any suggestions on trying to make it work? I even downloaded the Airport Client 2009-001 update from Apple and installed it with Pacifist to no avail. This card wasn't in the machine when I originally installed iDeneb, so I figured maybe doing this would add something that needed to be added. No luck. Thoughts?
