TimBuckingham
Ok, a few of us over at the MacRumors forums have been struggling with this for a while, so I was wondering if anyone over here could help out. We've got these WUXGA LCDs that work wonderfully in Windows on our MacBook Pros but either don't show anything at all (black screen) or show a completely distorted image. I thought of maybe trying out the patched version of Mac OS X to see if I could get it working... I remember having 1600x1200 resolution working on my VAIO... Anyone had any luck? tarjan
Just wanted to bump this back up. One of the guys trying this evidently made the resolution "work" but the colors were all screwed up. As if the EDID info was being ignored due to the screen being the internal one. Anyone know how to force osx to accept and use the proper EDID from the lcd panel? Thomas_Chaos
Can you Post the specs of your macbook, the make and model of screen you installed and what issue you are expeiriencing inside Mac OS X (IE distorted colors, no sync, etc). I also have a wuxga samsung scren installed in my macbook. I can currently get either sync or colors, When I get the sync correctly the screen apears to be overdriven and the colors are off as well as the gamma, however if I leave the screen in it's distorted hape the colors and everything else looks perfect but is offset by about half the screen. I have had limited succes by using ATIinject to adjust the framebuffer sizes and offsets to their correct values. I'm 90% sure that the problem lies with the video card at this point and the values that are being passed to it.
