@6ubidu

the reason you wont be able to get anything on the screen is because the ATi4350 only started working in 10.6.2 and 10.6.3. so you wont be able to use a bootcd with 4350 :)

rough advice

i thought up a way that you will be able to install

unfortunately, you will have to have brief access to a macintosh though, running 10.5 or 10.6. sucks, there are other ways but they are more confusing. this way, you do lots of preparation, and then briefly (should take 30mins) use a mac.

if you buy an 8gb usb, you could install PC_EFI 10.6 and osx 10.6 to it and use the combo update (from apples website) to update it to 10.6.3

Add the ATI4350.Fix.kext to /Extra/Extensions

you would also have to add any other kexts your motherboard needs and/or a custom dsdt (if your board needs it).

detailed advice

so the order of action i would recommend, would be to

1.buy a 8gb usb

on a pc or any computer

2.from this post download the Chameleon-RC3 with PC-EFI 10.6 Installer and the ATI4350.Fix.kext

3.download all the other kexts you need for your board, and if your board needs it, the custom dsdt

4.download the 10.6.3 combo update

5.prepare folders on your usb, so that you have everything you need easily accessible when you go to the mac to set it all up. you could make a folder called something like "Files i need for asus OSX"

make these folders:

Kexts For Extra (fill it with kexts that are to go into /Extra/Extensions/)

Kexts For System (fill it with kexts that are to go into /System/Library/Extensions/)

put your kexts in the respective folders. if you are not sure if a kext should go in /E/E/ or /S/L/E just put it in Kexts For System folder as all kexts work from /S/L/E/.

6.put the files you downloaded onto the usb (dont install anything, just put them on it)

on the mac

7.on the mac transfer all the files on the usb to desktop, using your retail SL disc follow this guide to install Snow Leo onto it, apply the 10.6.3 comboupdate, install PC_EFI to it using the Chameleon-RC3 with PC-EFI 10.6 Installer, add your respective kexts from the folder you copied to desktop: Kexts For Extra go to /E/E/ and Kexts For System go to /S/L/E and add dsdt (if you have it) to /Extra/ , edit your com.apple.boot.plist to include the entry <key>GraphicsEnabler</key>

<string>Yes</string>

8.whilst still on the mac install a copy of pfix to both the mac you are working on and the usb snowleopard

9.run pfix by opening Terminal and typing pfix and pressing enter. select the usb from the list of drives by choosing the corresponding number and pressing enter

10. that hopefully should leave you with a bootable osx usb that you can take home and boot osx from. from this, you can then install to your hardrive via your method of choice. its also really useful to have a spare osx on usb that you can boot from in case you mess something up on your hardrive osx

another way would be to try and get access to another graphics card already working in 10.6.0 and once youve installed, update to 10.6.3, configure it all for 4350 using my guide and swap the cards.

Thank you ANARCHiNTOSH !!! I really appreciate your help, but unfortunately(FORTUNATELY) I'm writing this post from my OSX86!!!!

I don't know why but I tried again to load the installer from boot132 specially prepared for my Asus MB and with -x i got STILL WAITING FOR BOOT DEVICE... After reading a lot, and removing everything from the MOBO I got past this message and last night I saw for the first time the GUI Installer - on my 4350... and then of course i set up the OS... and i could boot it with -x only... of course the EFI 10.6 didn't work in safe boot, nor standard boot.... installed the 10.6.3 combo update... with the EFI 10.6 in Safe Boot I found myself with no Keyboard and couldn't enter my password... so again boot132... and installed efi10.5 which was ok for Safe boot... then i found a tool called ##### which i believed messed the things a bit (it's my fault probably), because i chose to install lots of Audio Drivers which after not booting at all, i deleted under Win7... then again under Win I changed the INFO.plist for AriRadeon4500 and AtiRadeonX2000.kext adding my dev-id and again - no boot ... Finally disabled the onboard Audio - and VOILA!!! I am writing you from a SNOW LEOPARD 10.6.3 and with Chameleon 2 RC 4 i boot flawless :)))) Thank God because at one point I was really desperate... thank you too, ANARCHiNTOSH!!!
