Hello everyone. This is a topic i also started at tonymac's forum. Please forgive me for double posting but I desperately like to have this issue solved.

I am trying to install Snow Leopard following tonymac's new ##### guide. My system specs are:

 • Mobo: GA-P55A-UD4
 • CPU: Core i5 750
 • GFX Card: Asus EAH4870/2DI
 • RAM: Kingston HyperX 8GB CL7 (only 4 GB installed at this time)
 • Drive: LG CH8LS10 BlueRay Reader/DVD-Burner Combo w/ SATA connect
 • HDD: WD Drive, also SATA connected

I tried the original ##### Method, downloaded and burned ##### ATI and followed the instructions. After booting into Chameleon I put in SL hit F5 and started the boot process. I was not able to boot into SL, no matter what. Tried safe mode, swapped GFX Card to other PCIe slot and tried both DVI ports on the card, nothing worked, every time the boot process stopped at some point.

I then connected an old IDE DVD Drive and the result was "still waiting for root device", no matter which ports on the IDE Cable I used and no matter what the jumper settings was.

I was kinda frustrated but then I saw the all new ##### Supported, burned it and started the procedure.

This time SL booted without any problems. Partition table GUID, one Partition and started the installation. Instead of seeing an "installation Succeeded" screen, it says installation complete for some millisecs right when the progress bar is complete, then the screen goes black and after like 4 secs the computer reboots. Screen says loading operating system and nothing else happens. CDROM Drive doesn't react. Have to cut power and turn it on again to swap disks.

Then I was able to boot into SL though and installed 10.6.3 Combo Update. Some secs after it was finished the installation program quit unexpectedly, and with it, #####, before I've done anything with it. So I restarted and, the first time, I took some time browsing through the available options. The computer froze entirely.

Restarted the whole installation process, deleted the old partition and made a new one. During the install process the computer rebooted just like the first time. And, after installing 10.6.3 the install program quit unexpectedly just like before. But this time, after reopening ##### I quickly selected the appropriate GigaBeast option for my mobo and System Utilities and hit install. Installation was successful and I ejected ##### Supported and rebooted the machine. Now, after chameleon and some Mac OS verbose line the screen just goes blank and says "no signal" and I'm stuck here. Trying to boot from ##### doesn't help, safe mode (-x) doesn't help and PCIRootUID=1 doesn't help either. Also CDROM Drive won't react in that state.

What can possibly be wrong here? Please, any help is very appreciated!!!

Many thanks in advance, cgXR

Edit: Ok, now I read the whole post entirely.

I habe the same Problem with my Asus P7P55D.

When I did the combo update to 10.6.3 and then used giga beast, the screen froze. I hard rebooted it and after that, I can't boot into anything, I can't even start a new installation with #####.

My Gigabyte (different mainboard) P55-UD5 would not even start the installation (hier a different problem)

If anyone knows the solution, post here :ninja:

I wil later try the 10.6.2 and let you know...And, anyone knows, if I have to use #####? Because Sound, Network etc worked with 10.6.0 right after the installation.

What Graphics card and CPU are you using?

Thing is mobo and CPU are used by many people and installation should be very straight forward. I am really confused.

I found this on the internet:

http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php...681&page=96

posts number #2395 and #2396. This is the exact same graphics card I am using. What means flashing a card and how would I do it? Would you recommend me to do it or do you see other ways to try and solve the issue?

I am also quite sure the problem is the graphics card because i can use the keyboard to eject the disc drive and also shortcuts to shut down or restart the computer
