Hello,

my dmesg shows me the following:

ApplePS2Trackpad: Synaptics TouchPad v6.3
ApplePS2Trackpad: Detected toucpad controller "Standard TouchPad (TM41xx134)" (ModelID: 0x1A0B1)
ApplePS2Trackpad: Initializing resolution to 2159 dpi
ApplePS2Trackpad: Compensating for geometry, setting resolution to 1338 dpi
ApplePS2Trackpad: Capabilities 40979, 0xA013
ApplePS2Trackpad: W Mode Supported :D
ApplePS2Trackpad: Palm detection Supported :D
ApplePS2Trackpad: Multiple finger detection Supported :D
ApplePS2Trackpad: Using peak detection method

But actually it works like a mouse — no tapping, no scrolling, no whatever. Preferences show and treat it like a mouse after all.

What am I doing wrong?

The touchpad is on an Acer Extensa 4220, under OSX 10.6.3.
