change total memory size in DSDT

I had 8gb upon installation, but I added a third dimm of 4gb.

In the system profiler I can see the 12gb, but in chameleon/activity monitor/terminal I can only see 8gb.

After narrowing it down I'm pretty sure the probem is in DSDT.

So how the hell can I change those 8gb to 12gb?

I have already decompiled my dsdt btw

I have a similar problem. I used ##### to get my win7/osx dual boot up and running but then once I add my extra ram (tonymac's ##### guide calls for max of 4gb ram installed) win7 boots and recognizes all 6gb but osx crashes with this error screen

I feel like it might be a DSDT problem.

any help would be appreciated since I would really love to get all 6gb (and hopefully more in the future) to load inside OSX.

Thanks

You need to make a new DSDT.

That means removing you current dsdt, rebooting and making a new one.

OR

get the dsdt in windows and apply the fixes you used in the old one to that.

Posting this from my "First" Live Snow Leopard DVD.

I decompiled my dsdt, but honestly I don't know what I have to change to update my ram.

I tried removing the dsdt and rebooting. Nothing... the ram stays the same, and there are some minor graphic glitches going on.

I removed the dsdt file that is in the extra folder. Is this the one I was supposed to remove?
