Hey Guys,

I've got a problem: I want to install Snow Leopard on my PC but it won't work. I'm trying this now for about 3-5 Months but never got it run proper. I've also got a MacBook late 2009, so i got the Mac OS X Install DVD which they give with every Mac. So can i install OS X with those DVD's they gave me?

I've got the following things i can use:

-MacBook Late 2009

-A few 4.7GB DvD's

-One 500GB external Drive

-The DVD of my MacBook

So here is the Setup of my PC:

Intel Core 2 Duo E8500

Asus P5Q Pro -> (Which BIOS do i need?)

GTX260 by Palit

500GB SATA

IDE Drive

Thanks in advance.. PLEASE HELP ME

Please tell me which way i have to chose.

Forum rules do not encourage discussion of stealing software.

Hacking your Macbook's DVD is fairly easy, tho' you will need some sort of install medium of 7.5GB or so.

If you can't do this, you might buy the retail SL DVD - it is inexpensive & the current retail version shipping is 10.6.3.

as far as i know is there no 7.5GB DVD-RW, i only got 4.3Gigs here. I would like to install from a partition.. but is it possible to boot from an external harddrive plugged in via usb? I tryed that but everytime i want to boot up it just says "boot0: error" or just a blank black screen with a white dot.

Settings on Bios:

AHCI = On

Suspend Mode = S3 Only

USB-Mass-Storage-Configuration = FDD (Or something else) -> when it's on FDD it shows "boot0: error" on auto and any other setting it displays just that black screen

Yeah you're right, though the spec is laid out, they don't exist. I didn't know that.

It's easier to 'restore' the DVD to a HD partition anyway. You can use Apple Disk Utility to do that and then modify the contents of the partition instead of messing with discs.

Ok Guys, i'm running SL 10.6.2 now. I got two Questions:

1. My IDE-Drive is not recognized. What should i do? I saw something about a JMicron kext.. whats that?

2. How can i secure update to 10.6.3? Or is it a very hard update? I would skip it if it is.

thanks in advance

greetings
