vclawson
I installed SL onto a Dell Optiplex tower with Pentium D. I have 8GB Memory. First boot up gives me this:/dev/rdisk0s1: UNEXPECTED INCONSISTENCY; RUN fsck_ /dev/rdisk0s1 (hfs) EXITED WITH SIGNAL 8 ** /dev/rdisk0s1 Can't initialize disk cache If I use the boot args -v maxmem=4096 arch=i386 it will boot up and everything is working except my ATI 1300 mobility graphics card. I need to find out why it won't boot up in 64 bit mode so I can use all 8GB of mem. I used the following options Boot loader Chameleon_RC3_PCEFI_10.5 Kernel Legacy_kernel_10.2.0 System_Support CMOS_Reset_Fix ElliottForceLegacyRTC SATA_ATA_Fix Legacy_AHCI_SATA_Fix IOATAFamily_SATA_Fix SMBIOSResolver Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/217754-sl-on-dell-optiplex-745-using-hazard-install/ Share on other sites
vclawson
I can get it to boot with just the arg maxmem=4096 but when I look at the system Software overview it says that the 64-bit Kernel and extensions is no. The same thing if I add the argument arch=x86_64 I installed SL onto a Dell Optiplex tower with Pentium D. I have 8GB Memory. First boot up gives me this:/dev/rdisk0s1: UNEXPECTED INCONSISTENCY; RUN fsck_/dev/rdisk0s1 (hfs) EXITED WITH SIGNAL 8 ** /dev/rdisk0s1 Can't initialize disk cache If I use the boot args -v maxmem=4096 arch=i386 it will boot up and everything is working except my ATI 1300 mobility graphics card.
