I'm having wierd problems with my deadmoo image. I run the image using VMWare and it starts up fine everytime. However, after I dd'ed the unmodified image to a partition in another computer, it loads OSX fine but if I were to shutdown and reboot it for the 2nd and subsequent times, I get this kernel panic.

This is what it looks like in verbose mode:

I would like to add one more question: does the picture mean that the OS couldn't find my hard-drive, defaulting to network booting?

Any clues? Any way I contact Mr. Deadmoo because he's the one that gave us the image

In all honest, and not to be a jerk, but you should look into getting a new iso. The deadmoo image was more or less a proof of concept that osx WOULD boot on standard PCs. It was never meant to be widely used, I don't tihnk. If it weren't illegal, I'd suggest you get your hands on the 10.4.6 JaS image. :D:)

The 10.4.6 image from JaS burns to a bootable DVD, and gives you the same installation screen on boot as if installing OSX on Apple hardware. There's even a JaS 10.4.6->10.4.7 update available to get you all the way up to date. It also provides patches and drivers for SSE2 processors, allowing them to run Rosetta stuff nearly as well as SSE3 processors. Also provides support for AMD processors, and many "almost-airport" type wireless cards, such as the broadcom 43xx series.

Hope this helps.

Hmm...

I think I'm wayyy behind in the world of OSX86.

Anyways, thanks for the tips; will look into JaS...

(by the way, one of my PCs that I will be testing have a faulty DVD-ROM drive. Is there a way to do the JaS install using alternate methods?)
