joeblough
so apple's opening of the h.264 hardware decoding API has already spawned an update to flash and plex. does anyone have this working on their hack? supposedly the only cards supported are the 9400M in a variety of macbooks, and the new 3xx gpus. i happen to have a GT210 card and a GT240 card, and neither of these seem to be able to do hardware video decoding under 10.6.3, despite having full QE/CI support. the GPUs themselves are listed by nvidia as being capable of PureVideo HD, which i think is their marketing term for h.264 decoding. is there some EFI string that can fool the OSX driver into thinking the card is supported for h.264 decoding? or maybe a dsdt hack? xopher
I'm quite interested in this as well. Anybody here who has a clue? I've got the 9600 GT. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/217004-h264-acceleration/#findComment-1461082 Share on other sites
