Just got the image off from somewhere today and burnt that.

I've got Knoppix and various Linux distributions as well as a windows 98 boot cd (make from floppy and modified).

Here's what I got:

1. I've trashed my ext3 and swapfile partition from my Linux, using partition magic

2. Created an unformatted partition, just in the middle between my XP and my logical drive

3. boot up with fedora core 5 setup disc and used fdisk to change the type to 0xAF

4. reboot using the OS x86 installation disc (my version is osx10.4.6 Goatsecx)

Here comes the problem....

At the first time, I can make it and got it setup.

But I got a "no operation system" error when I tried to set it to active.

No luck for the chain0 method, which says something like "...failure..", not the loopback error.

And in knoppix, I cannot see anything in the partition when mounted.

Then, I tried from the 1st step above, and I just got hanged at the blue screen.

No spinning wheel, no disc/disk activities, just nothing.... and I've waited for nearly 5 minutes...

Is it due to my STRANGE hardware configuration on my laptop?

(You may be able to search it on net: Fujitsu Lifebook S7021)

I can never get Knoppix's fdisk work for /dev/sda (it is using this device context....)

That's why I need fedora core 5 installation disc.

If I'm not mistaken, OSX installer recognise that HFS+ partition as the 2nd one.

fdisk got it as sda3....

Could anyone please help??

(P.S. I've no idea why my HDD is recognized as sda (which should be either serial or scsi) but it is just a PATA100 one as stated in the spec. )
