I've been using my MCP7A ION box with 10.6 for a couple of months without any major issue. Last week I decided to upgrade the RAM from 1G to 2G. After that I wasn't able to shutdown any more. After "CPU halted", the CPU fan just keeps running. I've verified that this is not caused by any updates or kexts. At the same time I was able to shutdown normally from a PartedMagic LiveCD. (So this shouldn't be a Hardware issue either). I already have OpenHaltRestart.kext in my E/E and also tried EvOReboot.kext.

I've seen a lot of information regarding fixing Reboot or Shutdown and tried some of them, but I really don't know which direction to go.

Spec: OEM MCP7A ION mb (should be the same as the mb in Fiono 330 but with different BIOS),

AENEON DDR2 2G 667, Seagate 160G SATAII 2.5 inch HDD

Are you using a patched DSDT.aml?

Dump your DSDT table (again) using a linux live CD, or use Everest Corporate Edition if you have Windows installed.

Then search for "OperationRegion" and see if the address range is different compared to the DSDT you are using with OS X.

I re-dumped the DSDT and fixed the "OperationRegion" address. Now my system can shutdown normally.

Thanks a lot!
