iCereal
So I've been looking for a cheap intel mac mini for a while now to hook up to my TV and use as a media centre but not many have been around so I though I may aswell make my own Hackintosh. Could anyone tell me if this configuration would work? all these parts I found on eBay Motherboard - GIGABYTE GA-945GCM-S2L - £29.50 CPU - Intel Core 2 Duo E6550 2.33Ghz - £57.99 Memory - 1GB PNY PC2-5300 DDR2 Memory 667MHz - £17.99 Video - Radeon X1300Pro 256MB PCI-E - £17.50 HDD - Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 320Gb SATA - £27 DVD - LG 22x Internal Sata DVD-RW - £18.49 Airport - BROADCOM BCM4306 - £16.50 Case - I have a pretty nice one from my old gaming PC Total = £184.97 ($284.24) If it works which leopard distro should I use (Or would it work with Snow Leopard) ? would I need to apply any patches and would I need any drivers (If so a link to download would be great) And would this run better then a Mac Mini 1.66 Core Duo? Guest Jack3500
I think it should work, you should ask more people about the video card though might be hard getting drivers for it Im very knew to this and my only hardware problem was the video card Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/215170-will-this-hardware-work/#findComment-1445448 Share on other sites
