future_former
Hello people ! I am running 10.6.2, nearly vanilla install. First at all, my Hackintosh is working perfectly if there wouldn't be this damn USB problem... Since I installed Snow Leopard 10.6 USB is not working properly. All USB-ports are recognized by system profiler, but the ports are only working with USB 1.1 (12 Mbit). In Leopard 10.5.8 (IDeneb 1.6) everything is fine and USB 2.0 is present and fully operational. In Windows XP everything works, too. I tried to use the Chamaeleon USBfix string, changed the IOUSBfamily.kext from 10.6.2 to 10.5.8 version, switched off Legacy USB in BIOS, but nothing was helpful. Does anybody know what I can do to solve this problem ? Any help would be great !!! 85734763
Hey Max, Sorry for the delayed response, I wasn't following this topic. While your computer is starting up you need to go into the bios settings until you find the USB related menu. Took me about 15 seconds start to finish, nothing complicated at all. Gringo Vermelho
delete AppleHPET.kext, it will solve the problem. And break CPU power management on a vanilla install. If you disable Legacy USB support you will not be able to start in safe mode or do anything else that requires a keyboard before booting into OS X. The best way to fix the issue that's being discussed in this thread is by patching USB in your DSDT, there are plenty of information on how to do that here on IM and elsewhere.
