kludgedean
Specifically got me a tasty Vostro 1700, with the GF6600 graphics, 4GB RAM etc etc, but had the Intel wifi card in it. Bought a well recommended Dell 1390 card from eBay, and cannot find (on here, or google from my searching) what wires go where On the old card there's three wires, colour coded. Grey, White & Black. On the new dell card there's ONLY 2 stubs to attach cables, but doesn't say which two! I'm sure there are countless people that've got this configuration running SNOW LEOPARD. What's your wiring? I decided to test wifi connectivity (or lack of) with a live linux fedora core CD, only to get no connectivity for some reason. Any advice, or help would be appreciated!. This laptop really doesn't deserve to run Win* ;-) <3Iii Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/214836-dell-vostro-1700-intel-wifi-dell-1390/ Share on other sites
kludgedean
Was searching for Vostro 1700 stuff, and found this old post of mine for reference/archive; It doesn't seem to matter which 2 colours are connected, it seems it makes do with 2 rather than all 3. Maybe the 3rd just acts as an auxillary, or triple antennae Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/214836-dell-vostro-1700-intel-wifi-dell-1390/#findComment-1640656 Share on other sites
