@@@@
Hi, Installed iDeneb 1.4 10.5.6 on a Dell Dimension 9200. Everything works great including sound and ethernet. However, when I boot the pc I only get about a 50% hit rate for a succesful launch of osx. For the 50% of failures it hangs at the "Still waiting for root device" when I check in verbose mode. So, when I boot with rd=disk0s1 at the Darwin promt it improves success to around 75%. I've added this line to my plist file but what do I need to do to get 100% succesful launch. @@@@
did you burn at a slow speed like 2x? what media? No, but I verified the disk during the install of iDeneb and it was 100% ok. Install went ok anyway. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/214664-ideneb-boots-sometimes-yes-sometimes-no/#findComment-1441628 Share on other sites
@@@@
This probably doesn't make much sense but I can pretty well guarantee a successful boot if at the darwin prompt I enter "rd=disk0s1 -v". As said earlier I have put the rd command in my com.apple.boot.plist file so it must be the v command? Why would this be so? Can I put the verbose command in the above plist file? Swag Dog
Add this to your plist: haiguise=0 enverbose=1 This probably doesn't make much sense but I can pretty well guarantee a successful boot if at the darwin prompt I enter "rd=disk0s1 -v". @@@@
I am not an expert at modifying the plist. Do I add it before or after my rd command? Also, most commands in my plist file seem to start and end with a string <>. Do I need to include the string things with the command you have provided? My plist file is attached com.apple.Boot.txt Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/214664-ideneb-boots-sometimes-yes-sometimes-no/#findComment-1441977 Share on other sites
