NEED HELP!

OK so, i've installed mac os x on my system before but took it off cause i needed the space for games on my windows partition. Today i decided to reinstall it on the same hard drive, same hardware and same distribution of mac os x 10.5.8. but now my problem is that i can't get online the way it used to. The only way i was able to get online last time i had mac os x was by buying a cheap but reliable(on windows) Netgear wg111v2 USB wireless ethernet since the onboard ethernet does not work with mac os x cause it is not supported yet.... Right now i am online with my mac os x, but only by chance! the connection is intermittent and i can't have the device plugged in while booting.

 

Before i was able to have the device plugged in at boot, had a perfect fast connection and had no problems with mac os other then i can't play most the games i have from windows on it and my DVD burner is not supported by mac os x. Although the weird thing is that a person on youtube after i uploaded a video was able to with the same exact system burn discs, this could be because i've noticed gateway uses a variety of components in there systems of the same model.

 

*could someone please help, i really need to use mac os for some projects and with it not working all the way i'm stuck, everything else works fine. i had to install the graphics driver for my card after installing the OS, even though the driver for the video card is on the disc, it won't work at boot, all i would get is a grey screen where i could move the mouse but nothing loading. without the driver i get the OS X video and can run it but very slow or bad graphics. once the graphics driver is installed it works really fast!

Isn't it amazing how everyone tells you to go to the forums but when you get there you rarely get any help. why is there a forum is 40 people are willing to look at a problem but not even comment? I got it fixed sorta, but sadly my CPU fan Gave out and the Temp got up to 120 degrees C before the Cool n' quiet or Bios protection settings kicked in. Still no luck on why my USB netgear will not launch at start. i noticed today after i installed windows and used Easybcd that it worked after that but now it won't boot with the USB WiLan. Be nice if someone could comment there thoughts on this. But otherwise it is working good, just i know not to set mail to open at login or i will go into a kernel panic loop! I can even use my monitor as high as it will go now! hope it lasts lol!

The problem is with USB. What make/model southbridge is on your motherboard?

Don't mix USB and PS2 input devices. When your USB wireless ethernet was working, were you by any chance using a USB keyboard?

I'm sorry if i was being a bit rude, was frustrated with it at the time.

 

The Keyboard is a PS/2 And the Mouse is a USB. I used to have a mac USB Keyboard but it didn't work with OS X, ironic!

 

 

I have been able to get it to work, sorta. i no longer have to click the NETGEAR app three times to open it. After i plug it in it turns on after a bit. It still won't boot with it plugged in. sometimes it will and thats when i'm not watching it boot-up, very rare though!

 

 

I have a new problem that idk what is the cause of it. It now not always starting, it loads to a bright blue screen and nothing, sometimes a mouse, sometimes not! It also is giving me a kernel panic whenever i switch Users and open mail or on login of the other user. Thinking about restarting again. This may be my last week with Hackintosh though, going to be buying a mac on eBay cause this system is being sold on there, has three bids so far. Ends in two days if anyone is interested. Not trying to spam, but figured someone would want it cause, its great with OSX when its working, just a couple hiccups every now and then! Used to work great, hiccups not included then!
