Hi,

I don't really know what part got me to where I am today, so I'm trying to describe clearly what I did to destroy my perfectly fine OSX installation :)

Specs:

Gigabyte P35-DS4, OSX 10.6.2

1) Installed Windows 7 on an other disk. During installation it warned that it could break something with the OSX disk, but I ignored it, thinking "I'm installing on a different disk, why would it touch the OSX disk??".

After that, booting my OSX disk, I didn't get ANY error after it starts booting from the disk. (after it tries to boot from CD/DVD and realizes there is no DVD inserted)

I figured it messed up the EFI partition. (right?)

2) I burned the ##### cd and managed to get into my OSX installation. I tried to reinstall chameleon from #####, but no go. Still no error message at boot up. NONE.

I figured that it's trying to boot from the EFI partition, so I used this guide (http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=127330) to format the EFI partition, thinking that would reset it, and if would boot just fine. It didn't.

I don't really remember what error message I got at boot at this point, if any.

3) When that didn't work I though trying to boot from EFI partition all together, completing the guide I linked to above. And at this point I know I got this error at boot:

boot0: GPT

boot0: error

I am pretty sure I followed the guides every step.

4) At this point I was really frustrated and didn't think clearly. I needed to upgrade to 10.6.2 anyway (from 10.6.0), and I thought it might just fix the problem. So I did. I upgraded fine. But still no difference, still that boot0 error. (I still could boot from the ##### cd, so that's good)

5) After that I tried to install chameleon from both ##### and an other single chameleon install to both the EFI and my OSX partition. No difference. Just couldn't get past that error.

As you can see I'm not an expert of hackintosh, so I turn to you pros hoping you guys can give me an explanation what actually went wrong at my different steps in this story, and hopefully how I can fix it.

Really really grateful for help!

Thanks..

/E
