Hello all,

I am trying to install osx on my laptop (because my desktop is an athlon xp), however, I am having a problem that I hope someone could help me with.

Currently I am trying to use patch release1 or test3...however, I am open to other medthods of instalation of someone thinks that could help.

Anywho, when I try to boot release1 with '-v' i get this:

osx860084hd.jpg

Because of the blocks, I tryed booting with '-v "Boot Graphics"=No' and this is what I see:

osx860012tg.jpg

Anywho, is anyone able to help? You cant imagine how much I want to get this to work. ;)

PS Results with test3 are nearly the same, but if you want to see them just let me know

Hi if you're trying to install on Compaq V2000Z, let me save you the trouble...currently I don't know anybody who's been able to get a working install. Install via DVD takes forever (24+ hours) because hard drive transfer rates are extremely extremely slow. I tried to DD the image as well which made install faster, but didn't solve the slow HD rates. Looks like something is wrong with the IDE controller for these Turion based laptops.

Its a V2310...how different is that? I'll check...

Partial success for anybody trying to install on a Compaq V2000Z or other AMD Turion system, my config is:

AMD Turion ML-28 1.6 GHz 512k cache

1GB memory

ATI shared video

Conenxant AC97

Previously took forever trying to install native using patched Tiger developer DVD. Install took nearly 24 hours and load time 15 min...pretty unusable.

Today I did the DVD install on a Dell Desktop Dimension 3000. It's P4 2.8 GHz 1MB cache and install was done on a USB hard drive. For the heck of it, I decided to try and boot on the Compaq V2000 and bootup was signigicantly faster, just like normal on my Dell Poweredge 400SC system! Still some problems, as in Conenxant sound does not work even with AC97Audio.kext fix. Also the Synaptics keypad does not work and neither does the PS2 keyboard. I suspect all I need to do for keypad is install ApplePS2Trackpad.kext once I find it. Don't really know about the keyboard yet. Integrated Realtek networking works fine, I've yet to try the integrated Broadcom patch.

Don't know why native DVD install results in such slow HD transfer rates, but by installing via the method above everything blazes along great!
