alfonzotan
I've got an Asrock Conroe 1333/DVI board that had been my main Hackintosh for nearly two years before I retired it in favor of an i7 build. Pulled the Asrock board out of storage this weekend to build up a home media server, and I absolutely cannot get any installer DVD to boot without an ACPI kernel panic. As the pirate with a steering wheel in his pants said, it's driving me nuts. I've tried (deep breath) SnowOSX86 3.6, Empire EFI 1.0.8 (retail DVD), Kayway 10.5.1 (and I know that one worked for the board way back), ToH x86 9A581 RC2 (ditto), and a regular old generic.iso boot CD. No joy. At this point, there's a little voice saying, "You're missing something simple, or doing something stupid." Any thoughts on what that might be? I know this board works; it's been loaded with multiple distros and retail installs in its lifetime. I don't absolutely have to have Snow Leopard on it, really any version (although I'd just as soon not drop all the way back to Tiger) would work out...
