I'm not exactly new to OSx86 because I've done this 1000 times on my old Dell 6400 which thankfully had lots of patches available for it so it worked perfectly. I've now got a Dell Studio 15 and yesterday installed Mac OS X 10.5.6 with the iPC release.

It went well and worked. I've managed to get or have partly got the following working: native resolution, audio, track pad and keyboard, wireless, card reader. To achieve this I used the following patches and tools:

ChameleonMR2 for the native resolution.

bcm43xx_enabler.sh for the wireless.

AppleHDA.kext/HDAEnabler.kext by Ridgeline for the audio.

IOSDHCIBlockDevice.kext for the card reader.

10.5.6 Synaptics Trackpad Enabler for trackpad and keyboard.

I also managed to update my installation to 10.5.8 without any errors so that's good. However it's not perfect; I still have these issues bothering me:

The laptop cannot sleep, if you click on the sleep button it just freezes.

The dim screen after X amount of time feature does not work, it just locks up instead.

Audio volume can't be lowered, it's always on 100%.

Headphones work but doesn't stop sound from coming out of the speakers.

Volume controls do not work, the bubble that comes up just says its on mute when it's not.

Also things like VLC do not output video because there are no drivers for my integrated graphics card, (hence why native resolution has to be forced by Chameleon), this also means that anything videos such as YouTube or BBC iPlayer cannot go into full screen because it lags too much. I appreciate there's nothing that can be done 100% for this error because Apple don't support this card in their own computers, however it would be nice to resolve some issues.

I would appreciate any help with the above issues, thank you very much.

Here are my specifications according to CPU-Z:

Model: Dell Studio 1555 0D176M

Processor: Intel Pentium Dual Core T4300

Chipset: Intel GM45/GM47 chipset

Graphics: Intel 4 Series Express Chipset Family (GMA 4500MHD)

Memory: 3GB DDR2

Thank you, Steven.

I was able to enable sleep by tweaking my dsdt.aml file. It has a powerbutton fix and speedstepping (p-states) . Sleep is working well and wakes via powerbutton. Sleep on lid close is working. But I feel this is the key to getting all other sleep issues corrected.

*Sleep only works while plugged in to ac, trying to figure out what the problem is........

Find attached the dsdt.aml file. Working on 10.5.8, also works with Snow Leo 10.6.1

You MUST set your lidwake to 0 for this fix to work at all. Attached is a shot of the terminal with the proper commands
