I own a HP Pavilion p6360uk, I've used OSx86 before on my other pc and netbook but this seems impossible to boot into the installer.

I know I'm not making any mistakes like forgetting to choose what to boot from but whenever I go to boot into the OSx86 installer it briefly shows "Loading Darwin/x86" and then reboots...

I've only gotten one version of OSx86 to even boot into the installer and it's a iDneb release but when I go to boot after the install it just reboots at "Loading Darwin/x86".

Ask if you need more info, would love some help.

Hi there,

I've been looking at one of these machines. What version of OSX are you trying to use? Leopard or Snow Leopard? Have you tried a custom boot-132 disc and retail disc? If you find the kexts for your motherboard you might be able to get a retail disc booting and installed

Bump, I would like to see the solution for this as well. I own an HP Pavillion dv2945se and they appear to be similar. However when I load iDeneb I get to the install process, but I have no drive to install too. I know this is because my harddrive needs to be in AHCI mode, but my BIOS wont let me change it. Does anyone know the solution to this mans problem, or another distro that supports ATA mode?

Does the drive show in disk utility?

I just tried it, and it doesnt work. This isnt picking up my HDD either...

Right ok then. Next thing would be to download "Empire EFI". There should be an amd release recently. You'll need to download the Empire EFI iso and you'll need a retail snow leopard disk if you can lay your hands on one. It should allow it to install then you'll just need to install any relevent kexts to get the system running properly. Download the kexts for your hardware from kexts.com or the forums. Hope this helps
