I'd love to hear an answer to this too!

FWIW, it lists MAC OS support for Xlink Kai under management here http://www.asus.com/product.aspx?P_ID=isOo...&templete=2 but I think that just has to do with PSP or something.

If I buy one of these, I'll let you know the results.

Hi everyone!! I am glad to see some fellow OSx86 users are asking about this because I had questions about how it ran also. BUT.. I have answers!! :D (not for you snow leopard types though... sorry :() But the Asus N-13 USB is NOT seen as an airport card. I installed the drivers for my computer and it seems that they run out of the asus utility only... sorry to bring the bad news guys... On the up side however... the Asus N-13 is a beast of a wireless card. I think it picks up a lot more networks than my Intel 4965 PCIe card does... As of typing this to you my intel wireless card doesnt work where I am at in my building, but my asus card does. So, although the intel card may move faster at times, the asus one gives me the most range.

Now to fix my two finger scrolling.... :(

Oh and btw.. I am running 10.5.8 if you needed to know :)

wait... on second look it looks like you guys are running desktops with the N-13 pci-e card... nvm.. I thought you were talking about the USB adapter...

yep this is the pci version of the card... and i can't try it yet because i'm still in the process of finding parts for my i7 hackintosh but i bought a cheap usb wireless n dongle that is compatible for mac just in case this one doesn't work

You mean PCI-e right? I don't think Asus makes a PCI wireless N.

I just got this card and put it in my hackintosh, but it doesn't work. There are open source linux drivers available on the asus website, but I haven't had time to look through them and see how big of a task it is to port over...

Haven't yet had time to even see what chipset it is or anything, in case there are already drivers for it.

edit: Looks like a Ralink 2860 based NIC

http://www.broadbandreports.com/forum/r239...well-with-Linux

edit 2: I installed the top driver from the following, rebooted and works fine Only small issue is you have to use the ralink utility to find your networks and it will show up in the network preferences pane as an ethernet port.

I know its been a while since anyone replied on this board, but since I came across it while trying to determine a good pci or pcie based wireless card for my system, why not report my results with the asus pce-n13. It's a good wireless card that is very small and easy to install. However it does not work in 10.6.4 64bit at all. If you are running 32 bit snow leopard, leopard or tiger you should theoretically have luck with this card by installing the topmost driver found here, even though 10.6.x is not listed at all.

http://www.ralinktech.com/support.php?s=3 for the Ralink 2860 chipset.

I attempted to install this driver and the client that goes with it and I had no luck based on a failed installation notice I got from the installer. After my attempt I ran kext utility in the event there was an error with permissions, but there was no luck with that either.

Fortunately I do not have to toss it since it works very well with the ubuntu linux and windows 7 x64 installations on a separate hard drive.

Since PCI based wireless seems hard to come by I am continuing to use the Rosewill RNX-N180UBE

http://www.rosewill.com/products/1548/productDetail.htm

It is usb based but actually works very well with regards to reception and it comes with an extension cable so as to not crowd your usb i/o's. This page also links to the driver downloads for Mac OSX. Rosewill does a great job supporting mac osx as well as windows and linux. You will have to use a client for it to work, and obviously does not pretend to be an airport card, but you can actually quit the client app once you get it working so it isn't hanging out on your dock or your screen while you go about your usual business.
