I've been playing a lot with DSDT, really don't know if the one i'm using right now come from here or not, give it a try, for me is working great, sound, network, sleep, wake... DSDT will no longer inject audio into the OS using AppleHDA v1.8.3fc1, because Apple have now hardcoded the codecid into AppleHDA, So everyone will have to go back to editing the file the hard way, Anyway i got a AppleHDA file for ALC888 with all ports showing in preferences, names arn't all right but atleast all the right ports etc, Needs to be tested. Will restart and upload then i have to get back to studying, My AppleHDA is hardcoded for ALC888 only. AppleHDA_v1.8.3hardcoded.kext.zip Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

My kext will work for your chipset ALC889a because ALC888 and ALC889a have same ports configurations, but you have to edit the file, AppleHDA, goto plugins, not the controller file, not the platform file, but the driver file, edit the plist with your codec ID. READ THEKING's APPLEHDA POST TO GET YOUR CONFIGDATA. Replace my config data with your config data. For ALC889a the code ID is 283904133. I'm not sure what is my actual audio controller is but my hardware ID is 80863A3E, which some experienced users had suggested to use the kext for ALC1200, which is very confusing. I'm trying to use DSDT just like you but I have no idea on how to edit it.
