Tech-boy
Hey guys I am going to get straight to the point, My system is the one in my sig. I got iAtkos to installed on my sig, after some trial and error I got it fully functioning, even updated from 10.5.7 (i think) to 10.5.8, changed ethernet port to 0 to get itunes working and etc. OSX is extremely fast, I timed boots of 7sec and 2sec shutdowns, dual boot with windows 7 is fully working too. Ok so everything is golden, or so it appears; I have two issues and then it will be golden so please help me solve those issues. Issue 1: I appears that there is a usb problem, if I install my G19 keyboard drivers the mouse and keyboard lock up. The os doesn't freeze but the USB drivers appear to crash. So I just don't install the drivers, well no. The same thing happens if I plug in an external drive! If it wasn't for this everything would be perfect, does someone know how I can fix this? Issue 2: My oc does not work, any overclock at all and it boots straight to windows, I can not even boot off of the iATkos disc with a oc. And the oc is a 100% stable Thanks for the help My System: OS: 10.5.8 OSX Leopard Sig Rig: x4 940 AMD CPU TA790GX 4gb 1066mhz Dominator Ram GTX 260 INTEL SSD Gen 2 80gb SyncMaster 2343bwx Monitor Antec 900 V2 Case Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/211938-help-so-close-please/ Share on other sites
Tech-boy
Ok just noticed I am having a much more serious problem now. My secondary Sata drive, which is a WD 640gb black, is disconnecting itself from osx. For example, It is there on the desktop at first but after 30min or so a windows pops up saying "Device Disconnected Improperly There may have been damage" or something along those lines, this also happens when I plug in my external, will work fine for like 30min then it like crashes and disconnects, as if I cut the power to the drive! This is really my only problem, if one of you can help me solve this problem I will be able to fully use OSX on my PC! If I can't find a solution for this problem then it will be back to Microsoft! BTaylor
This is the right forum, but it sounds like you're having kernel issues. Try install qoopz 9.8.0 kernel and see if that alleviates your problem. Tech-boy
Ok I tried updating the kernel using Prasys's automated script, and by typing this into terminal (yes I have the mach_kernel on the desktop): sudo cp /mach_kernel /mach_kernel_old sudo cp -f ~/Desktop/mach_kernel / sudo chown root:wheel /mach_kernel* sudo chmod 644 /mach_kernel* Neither way seems to work. After reboot, if I go to software updates, more info, under software, it still say 9.7.0 Darwin kernel. Any ideas what I am missing? Also do you guys think there could be a problem in my bios settings? Any tips on what I should set for a Successful OSX on Pc Experience? Thanks a lot, I am really looking forward to figuring this out with you guys Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/211938-help-so-close-please/#findComment-1421153 Share on other sites
Tech-boy
No worries guys I was given a Mac Book today. With a broken logic board, bad gpu. I fixed it by torching it, so all is well with the world and I don't need osx on my pc anymore. If youare Curious how I fixed it, you can get the details at this thread here: http://www.overclock.net/laptops-notebook-...d-mac-book.html Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/211938-help-so-close-please/#findComment-1423865 Share on other sites
