N!tr@m Posted February 22, 2010 Share Posted February 22, 2010 Hey, I've found a (likely) working install method for my PC, but I have to restore the OS X 10.6 image to my USB stick with disk utility. After this I have to use myhack.... My USB stick is very fast (windows, mac os x), but when I try to restore the image (macbook pro) it would take TWO-AND-A-HALF-DAY! Any ideas? Nitr@m Did you had patient and let it for at least that "half hour" and see what its doing (hangs at that 2 days or the time reduces?!). If you already did that try another stick or an external disk and see what happens. Try the other port on the macbook. N!tr@m On a circa late 2006 (Core Duo) Mac Mini it took ~12 hours to restore a DVD image to a 8GB USB Flash stick. This was the second time I went through the process. I don't remember it taking that long the first time but it might have. What is the best way to wipe out the boot loader on a USB flash drive? Hey, I just want to say, that I found a solution: I created a .dmg image (Disk Utility) of my SL DVD and restored the image to my USB stick.
