My Extensions folder under Library/Extensions is empty... Am I screwed?

Is there anything I can do?

the only way I'm able to boot is by -x -v cpus=1 -x32 -f

otherwise i get a com.apple.driver.appleTyMCEDriver error. I've read that you can delete it but I can't find it since my Extension folder is empty.. probably corrupted...

Any help is appreciated thank you

Nope, that folder is empty by default.

The real folder is located at /System/Library/Extensions

As for your other problem, without your system specs it is impossible to tell why you can only boot that way.

Laptop: asus m50vm-a1

CPU Type: Mobile DualCore Intel Core 2 Duo P8400, 2266 MHz (8.5 x 267)

Motherboard Name: Asus M50Vm Series Notebook

Motherboard Chipset: Intel Cantiga PM45

Video Adapter: NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GS (1024 MB)

Audio Adapter: Realtek ALC663 @ Intel 82801IB ICH9 - High Definition Audio Controller [A-3]

IDE Controller: Intel® ICH9M-E/M SATA AHCI Controller

I installed Hazard's snow leopard with 10.6.2 update, bootloader chameleon + PCEFI 10.5, X11 and rosetta

I tried to make my geforce 9800m gs work by installing Aquamac's driver "NVIDIA 9000 Series Driver v2" then "NVdarwin Installer 1.2.5.mpkg" without success

edit: I just deleted the kext going to reboot to see if it works.

Sorry I'm kinda new to this... I managed to get leopard working properly last year but it was more about luck than anything else.

What is a DSDT? Is it some sort of layer that communicates with the peripherals? I don't think I patched anything regarding this... Right now I must boot using -f -x32

Thank you

Jonathan

Ok I just read on the subject... I downloaded DSDT patcher GUI and I'm going to try it out

Okay I just rebooted I'm still having the same issues

If I only do -v when booting I get stuck at failed to load com.apple.driver.AGPM kext and then I get "Kext load request buffer from user space still retained by a kext; probable memory leak"

I'll investigate further
