oldnapalm
I couldn't find the southbridge in that specifications page. I believe it's Intel. You have to choose the right driver under SATA/ATA (or chipset) in the personalization. Beerkex'd
Oki, for the driver, Yes I think they are INTEL, but I think that i can install without cheking them isn't it? Do you think that oldnapalm with +500 posts, registered since August 2005, is lying to you? -- The ICHx "chipset" drivers under 'customize' are actually only SATA/PATA drive controller drivers, not sound or wi-fi or anything else. It's impossible to give you exact help, the specs page for your laptop lists three different possible chipsets for your laptop and lots of information is missing. If you want detailed help, you need to provide detailed specifications. One general advice I can give you is to pick as little as possible under Customize, just the bare minimum to get the system to boot. You can fix stuff like video, sound and LAN after the OS boots successfully. mh4pac
Do you think that oldnapalm with +500 posts, registered since August 2005, is lying to you? Of course not, I'm not saying that, I mean that I think that it is not necessary to install driver scince I don't need them (It's a question if you re-read my sentence -friendly-, english is not my native language but I got 745 in TOEIC). So what if you help me with your exeprince? what do you think? do I really need to check Video ou Sound or Network card if I don't need them? Is my Problem coming from those options in installation, Do you think that I'm obliged to check one of those Chipset driver at least, what if it doens't appear in the list, what should I do? I always believe that I should check Chamelion 2 as Bootloader and Vanilla, other memeber said that I should check Firewire remove (did it)... lots of option, I setup up those 3 version at least 4 times per one, lol, every time diffrent option, maybe it's because of my HP PC, it's new one, and it's driver are not compatible!! what do you think? Thank you for HELP, if you alwayz have no problem after Installation, please give details about your PC spécification and options in SETUP Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/211231-ideneb-sill-loading/#findComment-1414331 Share on other sites
Beerkex'd
Of course not, I'm not saying that, I mean that I think that it is not necessary to install driver scince I don't need them (It's a question if you re-read my sentence -friendly-, english is not my native language but I got 745 in TOEIC). The exact words that oldnapalm used were "have to". But hey, if you think they are not necessary, then by all means keep trying without installing chipset drivers. If you don't believe in the advice given to you by experienced users, go ahead and learn things for yourself the hard way. So what if you help me with your exeprince? what do you think? do I really need to check Video ou Sound or Network card if I don't need them? I've already answered that question. Is my Problem coming from those options in installation, Do you think that I'm obliged to check one of those Chipset driver at least Both oldnapalm and I have already answered that question. what if it doens't appear in the list, what should I do? What if what doesn't appear in the list? You don't even know for sure what chipset your laptop has yet (probably ICH10). I think you should keep trying with different combinations until you hit one that works. If you can't provide exact specs, nobody can give you exact help (repeating myself again). Thank you for HELP, if you alwayz have no problem after Installation, please give details about your PC spécification and options in SETUP Both my hackintoshes run retail OS X, there is no "SETUP" (it's "customize", not setup). Details are in my signature. Beerkex'd
Set the ICH9 to AHCI mode in the BIOS. Under Power Management, enable ACPI 2.0 and if you have a page with 'CPU features', enable everything except CPUID limit. Laptop BIOSes are usually very limited compared to BIOSes on desktop PCs. Sometimes they can be "unlocked" to expose more settings. I don't know if that's possible on your PC. I don't know about iDeneb specifically but you must pick, as a minium: A bootloader An ICHx driver a decrypter, such as AppleDecrypt.kext or DSMOS.kext I don't know what your kernel options are - maybe you have to specifically pick the vanilla kernel. Your CPU can use it. As for the rest - I can't say. I don't have any experience installing iDeneb on a PC like yours. You'll have to search the forums to find out how to get your LAN, sound, Wifi and Graphics working. You don't have to try to get everything working at once, during install. You can fix everything once the system is up and running. Don't select anything in LAN, Sound and Video, don't pick any other patches. It's not unusual to try many, many times to install until you hit the right combination. mh4pac
Thank you very much for the help, I searched in the internet to unlock my BIOS and I find that I should pass by the hard way to do it, I mean my laptop is still under guarantee, and I should flash BIOS and they say that I can damage PC and make it out of gurantee like it is written in the warranty ticket back of the laptop (I begin to hate HP and its limited BIOS, lol), so what i'm gonna do tonight is to try to install this iDeneb 10.5.7 (it works only if I change SATA mode to IDE -not AHCI- otherwise it wo'nt detelct hard drive on hard drive utility) and i'm gonna note every option I make every time, if it works, it's good, if not, it's good too, and I'm gonna feedback, if you are expériment in other distribution unlike iDeneb, you can tell me which version and I'm gonna download them, but I need version 10.5.7 or more, and if doesn't work at all, can you tell me what do you think about Vmware Image? I'm still newbie (2 weeks ago that I started all that). Merci. oldnapalm
If you install iDeneb 10.5.7 with SATA mode set as IDE, try selecting "ICHx Fixed" under Drivers-Chipset. mh4pac
This is my 2 noted try : #Try num 1: booloader : chameleon 2 kernel : vanilla chipset : ichx fixed After install, I remove DVD, iDeneb load and after loading, i got blank screen, and I noticed that there is some pixel changing color in this screen. #Try num 2: Same bootloader and kernel and chipset option, and I added all fix menu After installation, I remove DVD : same results. #Try num 3: Same like first try but I change kernel to voodoo After installation, I remove DVD : same results. Is there a way to check where error come from with some command, I mean boot with DVD, press F8, and I enter command!! oldnapalm
Are you booting in verbose mode (typing -v at boot) and it doesn't stop "waiting for root device" anymore? If so it may be a graphics driver problem. Have you tried booting in safe mode (type -x at boot)?
