Tommy Liu
Dear all, I am a newbie of mac and trying to download Mac OS 10.5.6 from web. After I got a iso image [iPC OSx86 10.5.6 Universal PPF5 (Final).iso], I burnt it into DVD. Then, I used this DVD to boot up my machine for installing Mac. But I found that machine had been rebooted by itself. I try to search from forum and google. I try to use command "-v cpus=1" at command line for installing, but install procedure will freeze at [Waiting on<dict ID="0"><Key>IOProviderClass</Key>]. I have no ideal to fix the problem. Dear experts, please help!!! For my machine's config, please refer to list as below. Thank you. BIOS AMI Chipset Northbridge Intel G41 rev. A3 Southbridge Intel 82801GB (ICH7/R) rev. oldnapalm
Is your DVD drive IDE? I had this problem with an ICH7 mobo and IDE DVD, the only way I found was using an USB stick to install. oldnapalm
My DVD drive is SATA. Do you have any ideal? Sorry, no idea. You can try moving the DVD drive to other SATA connector. By the way, would you let me know your USB installation method details? It's simple, just restore the installation DVD to the USB stick and install Chameleon to it. The problem is that you need a running Mac OS X to do that. EDIT: have you tried changing SATA mode (in BIOS setup) between AHCI and IDE? Do you mean that all SATA devices are connected as IDE devices? I try this already and unsuccessfully. Do you have any other ideals? Thank you very much. If I guess that the disc do not contain my chipset driver, what can I do? Thank you. nestawasright
Dear experts - would you let me know what the problem(s) is/are? It is becuae I still cannot install Mac OS. Thank you. IPC is a good distro. So your best bet might be finding out what selections you need to make for your hardware are install. This may include typing in Google, the model and name of your video card and the version of IPC you're running. Or, go to HCL list and search for your hardware.
