HD4670 only with HDMI connected NO DUAL DISPLAY

Hi,

I have a issue with my

Sapphire HD 4670 Ultimate

that is a passive cooled model with 512MB DDR3. (ID 9490)

I managed to get the card working in SL 10.6.2 with nektas bootloader and vanilla kexts.

QE/CI is working

But the card is only working if its connected over HDMI output to a monitor and DVI or D-Sub.

But actually the HDMI connection is not "functional".

Its somehow just activates the DVI or D-Sub output.

Well, no problem, just connect the card over two ports (one must be HDMI) and wow it works.

But, SL recognizes the actual display as a TV not monitor (I can choose 1080i, 1080p, NTSC, PAL ,...)

briefly:

one output is occupied just to make the card function (i.e. the HDMI port)

one port (DVI/D-Sub) gives the signal.

one and one is two.

so no place left to get a second monitor working.

SystemPrefs indeed shows "Detect Display", -> SL thinks two monitors are already connected.

If I connect one monitor over HDMI and an other over DVI/D-Sub I get a picture only on the second monitor.

As said the HDMI port is not functional, but needed to activate the other ports.

In such cases the second monitors also behaves as if it is a TV.

I'd really like to get dual display working.

THANKS FOR ANY HELPFULL HINTS

i really wish this would work too, i also have a 1dvi 1hdmi and 1vga port...i can't get dual monitor to work.

i'm thinking of either spending money on the sewell minideck (http://sewelldirect.com/product4.aspx?tabPage=1&sortBy=date&sortDirection=desc&productId=5884&activeTab=ratings)

so i get dual monitor.

or change my video card to 2dvi ports.

same problem here

no dual display, just managed to get to monitor working in mirror mode

my card has hdmi, dvi, dsub too

i recongized that my card works if just conected to dsub. this way i get sound on my monitor (if connected with hdmi the monitor stays mute, as i guess it expects sound signal over hdmi)
