Hello all, I'm having a bit of bother just getting the OS X install to boot on my laptop.

Here's probibly the most important stuff my system spec:

Motherboard: Unable to get any Idenfication bar this stuff from CPU-Z

Manufacturer: Quanta

Model no.: 30D3

Video Chipset: Nvida GeForce Go 6100

Processor: AMD Turion 64 Mobile TK-53 (Dual Core)

SSE1,2,3 Compliant

RAM: 2 Sticks of 1GB DDR2 ram, (sorry dont know the brand)

120GB SATA Hard Drive (the emurator is IDE)

P-ATA CD-RW/DVD-RW D/L writer drive <-really technical, sorry (the emurator is IDE)

Emuration according to windows xp device manager)

Anyways heres my problem, I have the distro iPC PFF5 and when I boot from it it starts up to the darwin boot sequence no problem, I do press F8 and type -v so I can see whats going on. theres a few things I've noticed

A: in verbose i get about 30 lines of "unexpected PS/2 request" or somthing similar

B: once i get past USBF's I get the dreaded "Waiting for root device" about 7-8 seconds before the dvd drive stops.

I've seen other people saying once that happens stick it in an external dvd drive and wait. for an external drive I have an xbox 360 HD-DVD drive. when i remove the disk from my internal drive and put it in the external I get a kernal panic.

Any help would be greatly apreciated! and sorry due to a lack of detail, HP have made these damn laptops in secrecy!

Cheers, Simon
