Tenatious
Hello, I'm having nothing but problems trying to install Snow Leopard so wondered if anyone could offer me any advice on what to do! I followed the USB video guide on using the retail snow leopard and then using the kexts that were available in that file. I try to boot from the USB using Chameleon and I get stuck at this error every time and can't work out why! : ACPI_SMC_PlatformPlugin::start - waitForService(resourceMatching(AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement) timed out My hardware is as follows: Intel Q6600 Quad Core ASUS P5K Motherboard HIS HD3850 GFX SATA HD SATA DVD Drive 4GB Ram The Kexts I have in the Extensions folder are: AHCIPortInjector.kext AppleRTC.kext ATAPortinjector.kext Disabler.kext dsmos.kext fakesmc.kext IOACHIBlockStorageInjector.kext NullCPUPowerManagement.kext OpenHaltRestart.kext PlatformUUID.kext VoodooHDA.kext Any help would be greatly appreciated as this is really doing my head in and I just want to use OSX on my PC! The machine is ready to cycle into video but can't find a driver for your video card. ATI cards can be made to work but they are much more difficult than Nvidia. (I have an ATI3850 sitting in a box that I gave up on getting to work). If possible lay your hands on an Nvidia 9xxx card and life will be easier. After you get the machine running (and a little experience) you can return to your ATI card. The Nvidia card will work with an EFI string or GraphicsEnabled in the com.apple.boot.plist file. That ATI card will require modifying one or more kexts in S\L\E. A few things: What bootloader are you using? chameleon2 RC3 or RC4 or PC-EFI10.4 or 10.5 or 10.6. What is the contents of the com.apple.boot.plist in the Extra\Extensions folder? You have some extra kexts DSMOS and fakes' (use fakes, its newer) do the same job and if you are using one of the newer bootloaders the UUID kext is not needed.
