muchlife Posted January 28, 2010 Share Posted January 28, 2010 theres many distros that should work with yours one i'd suggest is iPC 10.5.6, in customize install choose the following Kernel = (leave blank, vanilla kernel should work) Chipset = Intel ICHX Video = Intel - GMA 950 Time Machine Fix Audio = ALC662 Ethernet = Realtek R1000 Wireless = (leave blank) Patched USB = Patched USB drivers Power = (leave blank) Fixes = ACPI fix, seatbelt, shutdownrestart PS2 support only if needed Patch DSDT AppleSMBIOS = 1) AppleSMBIOS 667Mhz 2) if that not work try SMBIOSresolver Applications - OSX86 tools, universtal osx installer, kext helper b7, NTFS if you plan on using NTFS drives to write to - video should have quartz extreme and core image supported, full resolutions - ethernet should work - audio should work (mic might not) - first boot after installer says COMPLETE use -f flag at prompt and when it loads for first time go to top left Apple logo, about this mac, choose more info and scroll through system profiler to see how well things are recognized Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/209480-what-version-of-osx86-to-run-on-my-hardware/#findComment-1398128 Share on other sites More sharing options...
Chris G 19 Posted January 28, 2010 Author Share Posted January 28, 2010 Thanks for the advice much life. I have found this version called "iPC OSx86 Leopard 10.5.6 Intel AMD SSE2_SSE3. I know it says iPC 10.5.6 like you said but I just want to make sure everything else is fine.
