Ocon
Hi Because I'm a graphic design student and have to use Macs every dayat college, I decided to make the jump and dual boot snow leopard and Windows 7 on my Dell XPS M1530 so I went to the Apple store and bought myself a copy. After a few hours of playing around I eventually figured out how to install snow leopard and used Boot-132 "BootSLv3-wifi.iso". After I got the dual boot working and fixed audio in snow leopard, The only things I cant get working our the wireless (because I have a Dell card but ordering a Intel one ) and my 8800M GT 256Mbs. I have been reading this forum and tried almost everything I can find to get my 8800M GT 256MB to work, And have failed i trying and have needed to reinstall snow leopard twice now. I tried EFIStudio and got my graphics card to show up in system profiler but still only had one resolution and no transparent menu bar (also "preview" in the dock does not display pictures don't know if thats related ) results of using EFIStudio: NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT: Chipset Model: GeForce 8600M GT Type: GPU Bus: PCIe PCIe Lane Width: x16 VRAM (Total): 256 MB Vendor: NVIDIA (0x10de) Device ID: 0x0407 Revision ID: 0x00a1 ROM Revision: 3175 Displays: Display: Resolution: 1280 x 800 Pixel Depth: 32-Bit Color (ARGB8888) Main Display: Yes Mirror: Off Online: Yes Display Connector: normally just displays as being a GPU and having 32 MB of RAM I have also tried NVinject.kext, NVinjectGO.kext, NVkust.kext and some others with still no luck. If anyone can help I would be very grateful Thanks for your time Alex My M1530 stats are: Screen: 1280x800 CPU: intel Core2 duo T8300 @ 2.40GHz GPU 8800M GT 256mb RAM: 3.00 GB Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/209039-m1530-graphics-card-help/ Share on other sites
