Hey guys, I am running a fully functional Asus Maximus Gene III Mac OS X 10.6 Install. Using 4gb of DDR3, a 8800GT and a Core i5 processor. My problem is hard to define, and I hoping someone here could help me narrow the problem down so I can go about troubleshooting it.

Everything, and I mean everything runs fantastic. However the second I load World of Warcraft on my mac, everything including the game slows down. Im talking half the FPS in wow compared to Windows 7, and the ability to type faster in my browser than my computer can show, so text will still be appearing after typing. Everything is running at like 50% speed, and only when World of Warcraft is running. I am trying to figure it out. It occurs instantly upon starting wow, so its not something that gradually occurs.

Page Outs are small, overheating dosent appear to be the problem, CPU usage is never over 20% even while lagging, it never uses more than 20% of my total CPU. RAM all together uses around 75% available, however thats after prolonged running. Disk Temperatures appear fine, and as with the Page Outs, my swap appears to be fine on all ends.

My only thought is my 8800GT could be hitting a brick wall, however that wouldn't bring my entire system to a halt would it?

Any suggestions are appreciated. If you need any other information feel free to ask, hope to hear back from someone.

Was that after patch 3.3?

I don't play WoW, but my brother does, and he told me about this problem. He fixed it using the old OpenGL engine, editing the Config.wtf file and adding

SET gxapi "OpenGL"
