OKay I had iDeneb 10.5.8 lite Edition Running... But I have two issues... The important one is that.... At times aftr the install is finished... It loads up and everything works excet the LAN wont connect even though the built it adapter is supported by default.... But okay it starts up okay then i shutdown or restart doesnt matter witch one i do the issue is that once the system trys to load up again i get a kernel panic...idk why... it just happens.. doesnt matter if i restart right away or if i customize osx it aways gives me a kernel panic on the second time the system loads up... Now if i use iDeneb 10.5.6 it just works

Now i did some messing around and i did manage to get the system to restart and work just fine its just that then when i try to fix the ethernet it gives me the kernel error... SO i don't know whats really at fault and the whole continues reinstalls gets tiring. I would stay with .5.6 jus that alot of apps have been updated to work with .8

System

HP Pavilion a6547f

Ethernet: Apple RTL8118 or RTL8888.. somthing like that.. Mac Address comes ups just doesnt connect to the Router

LAN issued i fixed it...Turns out that unlike Windows OSX does not turn on the LAN on boot. So i had to enable the bios to turn on the LAN on System boot..

Now OSX managed to stay working on 10.5.8 for a while i updated restarted working just fine i checked the update again had a JAVA update installed>restarted> Kernel Panic.... Ima See to reinstall OSX again and take a picture of the Screen So like that you guys can see what i am talking bout and aswell as the list of patches and Drivers selected on install... More details is gold in forums

NO i didnt chose a chipset... I know i would need one but i dont know witch one...

I did install osx86 tools in safe mode... And I messed around and found out that the kernel panic gets fixed when i run the following maintenance..

1. Clear System Application Cache

2. CRON maintenance Script

3.UPdate Prebinding

4. Touch Extensions Folder

Those are the only ones that allow a startup with out errors.. tried differnet combonations and none worked.. Only one was all 4 at once.. Thing is that i must run that everytime i startup OSX if not then the next time osx boots it gives a kernel panic then i have to go into safe mode to do it...

As for the Chipset i need help on choosing one... im using iDeneb 10.5.8 lite edition DVD

Heres specs from HP: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/documen...product=3870515

CHecked and the System has ATI SB700/SB800.. thats what system profiler said...I loaded the kext from the install dvd still didnt fix the problem... Im going to try a fresh install with the kexts loaded to see if a fresh install with the right stuff loaded makes the system stable.

you need to choose a chipset, however choosing more than 1 will certainly cause kernel panics. only select 1 !

you said you tried each combination, 1 at time but didnt work, but that is not because of the chipset, thats probably because you chose an incompatible SMBIOS option or kernel that won't work with your setup. Try ICHX chipset with AppleSMBIOS ToH and voodoo 9.5.0 kernel. see if that helps any

Didnt Work..Kernel Panic...Put the SMBios thing nope... the ICHX nope... Still Since OSXTools Mainteane seems to fix the issue for a moment... Make me think its something else... but still

.Put the SMBios thing nope... the ICHX nope..

whats that mean? nope? you saying you didnt choose anything for smbios option? you didnt choose any chipset? you MUST choose a chipset if you want any type of stability, just because you dont know which doesnt mean you should choose none.

you tried voodoo kernel with ICHX chipset and AppleSMBIOS Toh and still get kernel panic?

EDIT: forgot iDeneb 10.5.8 doesnt have AppleSMBIOS ToH - what AppleSMBIOS option did you try? there are many and you said "put the SMBIOS thing nope" not sure what that means. did you select all SMBIOS options? that would be a major problem right there
