Hi,

Though I don't own the HP Envy at the moment, I'm very curious about it as well.

Many people have reported about problems with installing Linux/Unix based systems because HPs BIOS implementation still hasn't been updated to be ACPI compliant (even worse: Its range of settings is rather modest.)

As far as I understood, HP released a BIOS-update which should resolve most of the former issues (except ACPI). But at least it brings hope for running OS X on this impressive machine.

- First you should check out all the tutorials available for HP laptops (preferably Core i7 chipsets). A quick search in the forum might help here.

Maybe someone else with HP laptops experience could chime in here?

- Assuming you own a legal copy of OS X, have you tried any Distro?

Keep this topic updated ... I guess there are some like us who are as well interested to see the HP Envy caressing snow kitty.

Best,

Maestroso.

Look here please. There are the exact specs of my laptop. And maybe you can help me out with my PC too?

I can't find a right DSDT to be sure and I don't even really know how to start.

Thanks for your help

Hi again!

Im just wondering.

I have the Hp envy 15 AND a MacBook, would it work if I installed SL on the HP's harddrive while it was in the MacBook, and the put it back in the HP after installation finished?

Would that work?

No I don't think that will work. If that works I don't think we need stuff like Chameleon around.
