snoguy986
Does anyone know how I can get my graphics card fully working in Snow Leopard (10.6.2)? The card itself is technically a "Hybrid" graphics card, mating a GeForce 9200M with a 9400M. The 9400M chipset is the primary graphics card and I'd be fine with that much at least so I could get the resolution fixed (1280x800). The System Profiler recognizes the card as nVidia and lists the following info for the card that the installation is currently running from: Display: Type: GPU Bus: PCI VRAM (Total): 32 MB Vendor: NVIDIA (0x10de) Device ID: 0x0866 Revision ID: 0x00b1 Displays: Display: Resolution: 1024 x 768 Pixel Depth: 32-Bit Color (ARGB8888) Main Display: Yes Mirror: Off Online: Yes And here is the info for (what I believe) the main card: Display: Type: GPU Bus: PCIe PCIe Lane Width: x16 Vendor: NVIDIA (0x10de) Device ID: 0x06e8 Revision ID: 0x00a1 Does this help anyone with what I'm looking for? snoguy986
I've been trying to get this graphics card working in 10.6.2 for the better part of the day. I've been googling and searching this forum to no end. I've only been able to find 1 post directly related to this card (http://www.projectosx.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=434) and it talks about NVEnabler. I've tried installing this kext several different ways with the end always the same, the black screen of death telling me I need to restart my computer endlessly. Several nVidia kexts came installed with the version I'm using (It doesn't really have a name, and I don't believe I can post the link of where I got it either. Think "arrrr" and it's one of the more popular versions on that site), NVDANV40Hal.kext, NVDANV50Hal.kext, NVDAResman.kext, and NVSMU.kext. I'm aware of what the NVDANxxHal kexts do as well as the NVDAResman.kext (I'm told I need to add my device ID to NVDAResman.kext, but I have yet to find a true kext editor), so I don't mess with them. Does anyone know where I can go from here? Is there a kext that I've overlooked?
