swimmingman32
I was wondering how to install Snow Leopard NOT Retail but Snow Leopard 10.6.1-10.6.2 Intel AMD made by Hazard. Any help on what I need to install would be appreciated! ALSO HERE ARE THE SPECS: AMD Atholon 5000+ ATI 1300x Pro 2GB of RAM SATA 40GB Hard Drive (NOTE: I HAVE TRIED INSTALLING SNOW LEOPARD AND AFTER BOOTING INTO CHAMELEON AND BOOTING WITH -f -v it gave me a kernel panic!) marcarronnis
Hi! Why not retail version? It works awesome, including updates. Use this guide http://www.taranfx.com/install-snow-leopard-on-amd Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/208622-snow-leopard-on-a-asus-m2a-vm-motherboard-how-to-install/#findComment-1560475 Share on other sites
p666
Got the same motherboard.. tried that guide to the letter, and a couple of other AMD ones, and always get a KP at boot (with -s or -x) before it proceeds very far at all. Something about Page fault, type=14 in cpu0. It doesn't mention any specific kexts or other detailed information it may be having trouble with. Have formatted and tried installing a couple of times. I believe I have the 10.6.3 retail DVD. Have tried a few different 10.6 kernels, bios settings, etc. It seems strange as others seem to have got SL working fine on this board. Have tried unplugging all IDE devices, as I know that caused some problems with 10.5.x Leopard during install. Only difference I can think of is my 9600GT card.. I am using Cameleon 2 to boot into my second partition with working leopard on the 1st partition, my new snow install on the 2nd using GUID. I did have to fiddle a bit to get Leopard 10.5.8 working.. but now works fine on my board, runs pretty well. Anybody got any ideas??
