can you help me to install snow leopard? ;)

  • 2 weeks later...

I also have a Sony Vaio CW. It's a really great machine...but EVERYBODY wants to see it as an OSx86, eh?

Well, I got both the 10.5.2 Kalyway install to work, as well as one of the Snow Leopard disks that are going around. You don't have to install any kexts from the get-go, it'll let you boot up into it nice and clean. However, getting your drivers are the {censored}. 10.5.2 automatically did my camera and audio...but, Snow Leopard didn't do any of them. I've tried numerous kexts and just can't seem to get it to work. Hopefully, someone can give us some help.

If someone can get me some drivers/kexts that'll work, that'd be pretty sweet.

The specs of my CW are pretty much the same as this dude's, but here they are individually:

Graphics - NVIDIA GeForce G210M

Audio - Realtek HD Audio

NIC - Marvell Yukon 88E8057

Wireless - Marvell Atheros AR9285

I'm not so much worried about the NICS or audio as I am the Graphics. I'm unable to run GarageBand until my graphics drivers are working properly. I have an M-Audio MobilePre that I will be using for audio which I have working great. Any of these other drivers are just a big plus. I appreciate anyone's help, and just so all of the other pro's in here know, 'Yes...I have Googled for hours and hours. I can't stress how much I hate people that don't utilize Google.' Thanks again guys!
