Phil Smith
Sorry if this is posted elsewhere, but I couldn't find anything in my search. Basically, Hard Drive performance is normal in all areas except when I need to save a file. I get the spinning color wheel for about 5 seconds, and finally the Save dialog box appears. File saves as normal. I'm running a Gigabyte EP45-UD3P with 2x 640GB SATA drives. BIOS is setup as per all of the different Gigabyte guides out there (AHCI). First drive is booting on OSX, second drive is running Windows 7. There are 2 NTFS partitions mounted on my desktop that are totally useless. Is there some sort of conflict because of the NTFS drive presence, or it it something else that's causing the wait time issue for me? Thanks Phil Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/208581-slow-save-dialog-box/ Share on other sites
nerdalertdk
I have the same problem and have found out that it's due to disk spin up I have 3 storage disk and one system disk, The storage disk will spin down after 15min if they are not being used Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/208581-slow-save-dialog-box/#findComment-1396267 Share on other sites
