Hi guys, I am have trouble installing iDeneb v1.4 on my PC.

I have been reading alot of threads and different websites stating that if you using an AMD based machine, the the latest version of iDeneb is the one to use.

I downloaded the file, and burnt to disc. Rebooted my machine and it gets to the apple logo boot screen, but then just hangs there, and doesn't do anything else.

Where the apple timer thingy is going round on the screen.

Does anybody have any ideas how I can get this working on my rig?

Ideally you should boot in Verbose Mode until you have your machine running the way you want. This can be done by using the -v boot-flag. When you start the computer up you will see the Darwin bootloader screen. This screen will count down and by pressing the requested key will give you a prompt to enter these boot-options. Now instead of getting a gray screen with Apple logo, you will get useful information about the boot process and see at which line it hangs on.

booting without -v and booting with -v is the same thing, only when you use -v it tells you where the error is. Just because you boot without -v doesnt mean its not encountering an error. Its encountering the SAME error, only its not showing you what caused the error. this is why members suggested -v option, to see what is causing it

if its stopping around nForceATA, then this is the chipset driver. What options did you select during install? What kernel? What chipset/system? What appleSMBIOS option? what fixes or patches did you select?

Dont select any video drivers, unless you have a graphics card. your integrated NVDIA GEFORCE 6150SE nFORCE 430 will work for the basics of seeing the OSX user interface, but will not have Quartz Extreme or Core Image support so some osx uses requiring video or detailed graphics will not work properly unless you get a graphics card

i am adding this reply so that i can unlock my account to post about my own problem thats very similar to yours (only I use an Intel processor, but having hte same problem with the same ideneb 1.4). Hope that you can get it working!

your account is locked? as you just proved, your post worked fine. if you mean start a new thread, probability would say its unnecessary, its already been discussed most likely, you just need to read and search more.

in order to start a new topic, you need to have posted in at least 5 threads. Anywho, I have searched quite a bit and can't find the answer to my problem. What was wrong of my patch selection...please help me... :D

i've had problems on friend's machines installing on a partition and disk other than first SATA port, and first partition. disk0s2 means your using port 0, so thats good, 2 means the 2nd partition of that disk. whats on your first partition? can you erase this disk and try to repartition it, using the top partition in disk utility as your OSX partition? this would be disk0s1. if its an existing windows partition, are you prepared to erase it to try this?

the installation says its successful, but when you boot for the first time you cant get to the mac desktop?

your patch selection looks ok. what partition format did you format your drive? GUID or MBR?

i dont have much ideneb experience so i'm afraid there only few ideas i can give you. also dont forget to try typing -x at the darwin boot prompt to try booting in safe mode. or try typing -f at darwin boot prompt to rebuild the boot cache
