nmarques
Hi all, I have a small question regarding the capabilities of Chameleon boot loader and possible hack to bypass unsupported video cards possible method. For people who have been around on the graphics adapter tweaking and overclocking this is probably nothing new, netherless it might be fun to test with one of Chameleon's features, loading a ROM BIOS from the graphics adapter. This is mainly following logic and I don't know if it will work or not, but I'm willing to test it, but before would like to get some opinions from the hardcore people if possible. It is no secret that many people dump the BIOS from their graphics adapters in order to edit them and later on re-flash the graphics adapter with the tweaked BIOS. In my case, I wanna explore the possibility of dumping the BIOS, tweak it and use the tweaked ROM with Chameleon bootloader. My graphics card is a HD 4570 (RV700 family, RV710). My idea is to dump the BIOS of the HD4570, tweak it under the following aspects: - Change DEV_ID to a full supported graphics adapter, most likely another from the RV700 family. - Possibly tweak clock and memory settings to a safe value (downclock in the worst scenario). I would suppose this might work. Any comments, suggestions ? Thanks in advance.
