JJRMac
I tried doing a search but could not find anything that would really help. I've seen a youtube video with someone running OSX on a Toshiba L45. Is there a tutorial made specifically for installing OSX on an L45 or a tutorial that I can follow that works for it. And are there any extra files I would need for specific hardware to work? Last question, I didn't want to create a separate thread for pretty much the same question, but is it possible to install Snow Leopard on an L45? Thank you in advance. [/quote Hey, Try to install Leopard first then play with Snow leopard. Give "iATKOS v.7 10.5.7" or "iPC OSX Universal 10.5.6" a shot (search for them on google) , another tip, use "cpuz" (you can find it by typing that in google as well) the program will give you information about your hardware. I'm pretty sure iPC DVD or iATKOS will load up nicely on that system though, you have to try bro, its a hit/miss situation GL, post back any results. -Intrus Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/208208-need-help-toshiba-satellite-l45-s7424/#findComment-1390620 Share on other sites
JJRMac
Well just wanted to update. I was able to get iATKOS installed when i did the -v cpus=1. I didn't select any specific settings under customize since I have no idea yet what works/doesnt' work. OSX installed fine but now, after booting it is stuck on the OSX load screen with the loading icon going. Not sure where to go next gonna do some more research. JJRMac
Ok, I got it somewhat working now. With Iatkos V7 I have gotten Ethernet, sound, video, usb, restart is all working. Current Issues: Wifi: I cannot seem to get wifi working though. I opened up the laptop and looked at the WIFI card it is a Realtek 8187b. I installed the kext for them from the Iatkos CD but it seems that OSX is still not finding it. Sleep: The laptop goes to sleep but will not wake up. I have to reboot for it to work. SD Card Slot: Is not working even with the cardbus kext from Iatkos. Aside from that the rest SEEMS to be working fine. Does anyone know what kexts I may need to get the above issues working? And does anyone know a good utility to easily install/remove kexts. I know of a few programs but I'm looking for the best/easiest one to use as I am still failry new to OSX. Thanks!
