Sambba
I know but only option there affecting this is ACPI support on/off, but It can't be IDE's fault can't it? Sambba
Tried to install both, same panic. Also tried to change some bios settings, don't know what to do maybe I just have to come along with 15min booting iAtkos Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/208048-expiriences-from-ipc/page/2/#findComment-1394014 Share on other sites
Beerkex'd
Run Console, check the boot logs. Look at the timestamps and try to track down what is taking so long during boot. If you post a link to a .pdf copy of your motherboard manual I'll take a look at the BIOS settings for you. Sambba
http://www.retrevo.com/support/MSI-MS-7360...17246ag118/t/2/ there is the link for manual. But when im in verbose mode in iAtkos it tells some timeouts at end I think thats why it takes so long, also when I enter desktop then its very laggy for like 15minutes then it goes like normal and works very good. Pretty strange huh Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/208048-expiriences-from-ipc/page/2/#findComment-1394279 Share on other sites
Beerkex'd
You'll find more detailed info in Console. The manual you linked to has no details about the BIOS settings... Beerkex'd
You start the application 'Console' that resides in the Utilities folder on your OS X installation. Another way to quickly run it is to type 'Console' in Spotlight. That's the little magnifying glass up in the corner next to the clock. Sambba
Also my friend installed iAtkos also and ran in AHCI mode and it was fast, does IDE affect it? Also is kalyway worth trying? Beerkex'd
I don't know, I've never had any problems with either PATA or SATA and both are fast enough for me. Never took the time to compare. Any distro you can get your hands on is worth trying because of what you can learn. I can't say if it will work or not. muchlife
What voodoo gives compared to vanilla? if some of your problems are coming from vanilla kernel, then voodoo might work great. voodoo 9.5 is one of the most universal kernels in my experience. i've gotten it running fine on a dozen machines, intel or AMD. if you get your setup working fine with voodoo kernel, you can always try to switch over to vanilla later, but when your troubleshooting problems i think its better to start with things you know SHOULD work, then add in the bits and pieces later one at a time that MIGHT work, such as the vanilla kernel. Sambba
So can my ioapic and iopcifamily panic come from vanilla kernelå Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/208048-expiriences-from-ipc/page/2/#findComment-1397935 Share on other sites
muchlife
So can my ioapic and iopcifamily panic come from vanilla kernelå possibly... possibly not. in fixes or patches, did you select IOPCI family kext ? that could be problem also. its hard to know for sure what your problem is, until you start using options that are known to work. then if you want to be closer to vanilla you can start attempting reinstalls choosing more vanilla options one at a time, but if you go jumping into vanilla or selecting all sorts of drivers / customize options, patches in the installer your asking for tons of trouble and hours/days of frustration. dont select anything without understanding why and if you should select that. use my suggestion and report back how things are working EDIT: i found your audio chipset, if your motherboard is MSI-P35 Neo-F (MS-7360) then your audio is ALC888 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/208048-expiriences-from-ipc/page/2/#findComment-1398175 Share on other sites
